Tsavo East Big Game Day Safari
A red-earth wilderness of lion, elephant and buffalo, reached in a scenic 2.5-hour drive from the coast — the Kenyan bush in a single day.
Big Game Safari
For travellers who want the full safari experience beyond a single day trip, this three-day escape combines two legendary parks. Tsavo West offers dramatic volcanic scenery, the crystal-clear Mzima Springs (where hippo and crocodile can be observed underwater through a submerged viewing chamber) and excellent game viewing across rolling hills. From there, cross into Amboseli National Park — famed above all else for its enormous free-ranging elephant herds photographed against the towering, snow-capped backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear mornings. Nights are spent at comfortable lodges within reach of both parks, with morning and afternoon game drives structured around the golden light and peak animal activity.
Early departure from Watamu/Malindi driving inland to Tsavo West National Park. Afternoon game drive through the Shetani lava flows and rolling savannah, watching for lion, giraffe and buffalo, before checking into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning visit to Mzima Springs to view hippo and fish through the underwater observation chamber, then a scenic drive across the Chyulu Hills to Amboseli National Park. Afternoon game drive across the open plains as elephant herds move against the Kilimanjaro backdrop, followed by dinner and overnight at your Amboseli lodge.

Rise early for the clearest Kilimanjaro views and the most active wildlife hours, with a final game drive through Amboseli's swamps and plains. After breakfast, begin the return journey to the coast, arriving in the evening.
